So you have started speaking with a manufacturer about your designed garment. The next step is sampling and production and your manufacturer has asked you for a Tech Pack of the garment you want produced.
Do you know what a Tech Pack is?
A tech pack for your clothing brand is a blueprint that contains all the necessary information for manufacturers to produce your clothing. It typically includes details such as measurements, materials, colours, hardware, trims, and any special instructions for making your designs.
A detailed tech pack ensures that your clothing is made accurately and consistently. It's an essential tool in the production process to bring your designs to life successfully. It ensures that the same message is being conveyed throughout the production line
What do you typically find in a Tech Pack?
A tech pack is typically made of multiple pages that play a part in communicating how you want your garment produced to your manufacturer. Here are some examples of what you may find in a Tech Pack
Coversheet
This shows the overall design of the garment you want manufactured.
Bill of Materials
This shows all the raw materials that will be used to develop the garment. It includes the weights of the fabrics and the suppliers.
Details
This page helps you describe the components of the garments in more detail. This could be describing the stitching you want used and the construction details.
Colourways
This page allows you to describe the colour of the garment you want developed.
Artwork Page
This page allows you to describe the artwork you want on this particular garment including the measurement, placement and style of artwork.
Measurement Spec Page
This page is arguably the most important as it allows you to highlight the key measurements of the garment. Your manufacturer will use these measurements to develop your samples.
