So you have found a manufacturer and the first thing they ask you is "do you have a Tech Pack for your design?" Trust me I have been there before and I had no clue!
What is a Tech Pack?
A Tech Pack is a document containing all the specifications of your garment. It can also be known as specification sheets and is usually created by you the designer. This is then shared between the designer and the manufacturer and the aim is to communicate details of the garment being created. The quality of a finished product is dependent on the details outlined in the document.
So what have I done?
I have taken the time to create the perfect Tech Pack template for you to use. The template has integrated guidance points to make it simple for you to create Tech Packs for your clothing line. You will be able to send this to your manufacturer and they can start manufacturing your collection. It is simple and easy to follow as I have little pointers along the way to help you out.
Why is a Tech Pack important?
It saves you time because if you have communicated clearly what you want to produce in the Tech Pack, you can save time on the back-and-forth communication.
It saves you money as a detailed Tech Pack will cut down on the amount of sample production rounds
During production, there tend to be a lot of people involved, a Tech Pack ensures everyone in that chain is on the same page
You get a more accurate quotation for your garment production
It is a great reference point for quality control
